Westminster Chimes
Westminster Chimes By LutherSoft transforms your iPad or iPhone into an old fashioned chiming clock. With Westminster Chimes, you control the chiming by choosing how often you want it to go off. You can have it chime every quarter (15 minutes) of the hour or you can choose which quarters of the hour you want it to chime and which you don’t. The settings are very detailed, allowing you to change them to your liking. It’s pretty awesome! You can have it chime all day or just during a specific time window. I have an office job, and I work the normal office hour schedule. So, I set Westminster Chimes on my iPhone to go off from 9:00AM to 5:00PM just once an hour, on the hour. Hearing this chime helps my day at work go by faster, reminding me I have one more hour down! I especially love hearing it, if it’s the ninth chime I’ve heard that day! Westminster Chime is then letting me know that my workday is over! The girl I work with is starting to love the app, too!
Westminster Chimes reminds me of my mom’s grandfather clock we had in our living room growing up. Mom’s clock played the melody, Westminster Quarters, just like this app does! It’s the most common name for a melody used by a set of clock bells to chime on each quarter hour. The number of chime sets matches the number of quarter hours that have passed. It’s a very traditional chime, and I’m sure almost everyone has heard it before! It gives an old-time charm to a very modern day device. It’s a pretty basic app, which is something I like about Westminster Chimes. It’s very easy to use and the settings explain themselves.
