I don’t know what you think about the Maps app that comes with the iPhone, but I am far from a fan.  I’d feel honest saying I almost even hate it.  I guess it’s better than nothing, but it’s really not very different than directions you would print off of Mapquest.

WazeNot to mention it doesn’t talk!  You have to read the directions and click through each one to get to the next.  It’s stinking dangerous!  My eyes need to be on the road!  Before I used it, I was hoping it would be similar to a GPS system.  Sadly enough, it was a major disappointment.  While complaining to my boyfriend about it, he told me about Waze.  He downloaded it to my iPhone a while back, but until this morning, I had no reason to use it.  I had a doctor’s appointment before work this morning, so yesterday I had printed off some directions from Mapquest.  I never do too well with written directions.  I need more than that (haha)!  While struggling to find the way with my written directions, I remembered I had that new app on my phone.

I opened up Waze for the first time.  Let me now introduce you to the GPS king!  Wow!  Who the heck needs an actual GPS system anymore?  What’s the purpose?  If you have Waze, it’s the same thing!  As soon as I opened up Waze, I clicked the navigate tab on the menu board.    Waze quickly asked me to enter my destination address.  I entered it.  Immediately after, the app started speaking to me – exactly like a GPS system would! I was instantly relieved. I felt safe keeping my eyes on the road while listening to the directions rather than trying to find all the right street signs to find my way with my written Mapquest directions, or even worse clicking through and reading each direction from the Maps app! Waze warned me a couple times before each turn, which I always love – that way I don’t miss them!  Even with all the warnings, I did miss a turn – yes, I’m that bad!  When I missed it, within one second (literally), Waze had my new route figured out!  I know this because one second Waze was telling me to take a right on Park Street, and the next second, it was telling me to take a right on Lewis Road (the very next turn).  It’s extremely efficient and smart!  I couldn’t be more happy, relieved and secured with my favorite new app, Waze! If you need a good GPS system, that’s easy to use and clear with directions, Waze is exactly what you’re looking for!
