Ruby Blast FreeZynga, one of the most well known app developers out there, has recently made a new app called Ruby Blast Free.  It’s basically a treasure hunting game where you help a girl named Ruby, who recently found an ancient dig site that’s just full of treasures!  Your job is to help her dig to find as many treasures as you can!  This game is so much like Bejeweled with little twisted changes!  The gameplay is explained well when you first begin playing.  You need to match three or more gems at a time.  When you do that, the matching gems will disappear allowing other gems to fall in their place.  The biggest difference between Ruby Blast Free and Bejeweled is that in Ruby Blast Free, you do not actually get to move gems around.  All you do is look for groups of three or more matching gems, and tap them.  That’s when they disappear.  With Bejeweled, you match three or more gems, by moving them.  That’s not the case with Ruby Blast Free.  You’re timed with a one-minute timer, so you need to match as many gems as you can in that time frame.  When you match gems towards the bottom of your screen (near the dirt), you’ll begin to dig.  That’s when you find treasures!  Ruby Blast Free’s characters are adorable and the animation is perfect, which I’m sure doesn’t surprise anyone.

Ruby Blast FreeThe downfall to Ruby Blast Free is the ads.  Like most of Zynga’s ads, they come across your entire screen!  Many times when I tried to close out an ad, it actually took me out of the game to the app store to download the app they were advertising!  Horrid!  So, basically the ads couldn’t possibly be more annoying.  This is a major downfall, since it gets in the way of actually playing the game.  I think I’ll probably end up downloading the paid version of Ruby Blast.  I knew there was a paid version, but I didn’t know how cheap it was!  Many of Zynga’s paid apps are three bucks.  Well, the paid version of Ruby Blast is only $0.99!  So, try out the free version first, and see if you like it!  Ruby Blast Free does have  many plus sides.  It’s an addictive little game similar to the very loved Bejeweled, but with a much different twist.  Try it out!  If you love it but can’t stand the ads, download the paid version!
