Report Outlines ‘iPhone Danger Zones’

Smartphone designs have varied pretty dramatically over the past few years — with a few notable exceptions, perhaps — but a common thread runs through every notable smartphone on the market: a glass display. One slight slip can result in a smashed screen and smartphone owners often live in fear as a result. Wondering where you should be most careful with your device? Third-party warranty company SquareTrade published a report last year based on customer data outlining the iPhone’s “danger zones,” or the areas in and around the home where accidents are most likely to occur. The kitchen tops the list at 21%, followed by the living room at 18% and the bathroom at 16%. And smashed screens aren’t the only worry, of course — 9% of iPhone owners have dropped their phone in a toilet, according to the firm’s report. An infographic illustrating SquareTrade’s findings follows below.
