Report: iPhone 6 Sales Can Withstand Supply Chain Shortages
iPhone 6 sales may prove to be impervious to troubles from the supply chain and manufacturing channels.
On Monday, J.P. Morgan told investors that there will be “no impact” on iPhone 6 sales resulting from rumored component shortages.
According to J.P. Morgan analyst Rod Hall, if speculation surrounding iPhone 6 display shortages is legitimate, it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans.
In short, iPhone 6 sales will be strong regardless of the concerns lingering along the manufacturing channels of Asia.
“This sounds like a typical late-in-the-game supply chain story that turns out to have no impact on launch dates or devices sales,” Hall says of the rumors. “We believe that initial supply could be slowed somewhat if there is any truth to this but we doubt that iPhone unit volumes in the fall are likely to be impacted.”
iPhone 6 will likely be unveiled September 9th with the handset expected to go on sale on or around September 19th.
