Proxy Pal
Proxy Pal developed by Bottle Rocket is a really cool app for anyone that might need access to a proxy server to surf the web wherever you are. When I downloaded it, I wasn’t sure what to expect and to my surprise I actually loved the interface and design. The graphics and cartoon characters are pretty cool and kinda funny.
Bottle Rocket says this on iTunes:
“Proxy Pal serves up fresh proxy servers! Never be caught again on a computer at work, the library or school without a proxy that works.”
Have you become tired of trying to find new proxy servers to surf Facebook, MySpace, eBay, Google, Craigslist, YouTube, ESPN, CNN,LinkedIn, Hotmail or any other web site when you’re on a network that blocks those sites? Worried who might be tracking your surfing? Put all those concerns away because you can answer your problem with this app.
Never get caught without a proxy again. Use your iPhone and Proxy Pal to get fresh proxies from our server, bypassing your local network. Then, use the proxies on your Mac or PC to surf the sites you want, when you want, without the worry or hassle of blocked routers.
The only thing I noticed that could be a possible downside was the updating of new proxies, If they are not updated all the time the app will not serve to its full potential BUT, Fresh proxies are added all the time. Every time you launch Proxy Pal the newest servers are instantly downloaded so you can even refer to them even when in Airplane Mode. ( An awesome feature if you are in a place like the library or someplace where you might not have the best cell signal. Never again will you have to surf a blocked site using your iPhone on Edge/3G when you’re right in front of a Mac or PC on the high-speed connection because the network is blocking the site you want. Keep in mind the app can be used on both your iPhone and iPod Touch.(iPod Touch requires Wi-Fi connection to access proxy updates).
WHO SHOULD USE PROXY PAL?
Basically, EVERYONE. (haha) People who surf when at work, high-school students, college students, boarding school students, anyone who doesn’t want their web site surfing tracked or monitored, people trying to get around blocked routers, people having trouble with excessive internet security, people who use Hotmail, Linkedin, Facebook, Craigslist, eBay,Web Mail, CNN, YouTube, MSNBC, stock tickers, internet games and anything else you’re being blocked from.
Pros:
- Works worldwide in any country.
- Easy to use interface
Cons:
- Not updated enough (but then again it probably never can be if you are using it all the time.)
Disclaimer:
Remember that you are responsible for your own surfing. The app can’t be held responsible for you not doing the right thing.
