Itseez3D iPad 3D Scanning App Now Available On iTunes For Free
iPad owners looking to create 3D objects from real life might be interested in a new iPad 3D scanning application that is being created called Itseez3D.
The Itseez3D iPad application has been designed to be used with the Occipital Structure Sensor iPad camera recording device, which is currently available to preorder the $499 after successfully launching on the Kickstarter crowd funding website last year.
The Itseez3D iPad 3D scanning app has been created to send data into the cloud where it is then processed and returned to the user’s iPad as a 3D rendering.
The Itseez3D application was designed and built using Occipital’s Structure SDK which is now available todownload from the company’s website for developers to use. Victor Erukhimov, CEO of Itseez explains a little more about their new iPad 3D scanning app:
“The app is targeted to consumers so that anyone who has an iPad and a Structure Sensor can make gorgeous color 3D models,”-“The sensor provides 3D data for each of the pixels and the color image has three coordinate points to objects that you see in the scene.”
Once the 3D renderings have been created users are then able to share or use them in either .ply or .obj formats. The Itseez3D iPad 3D scanning app is currently available to download for free for a limited time from the iTunes App Store and currently supports either Apple’s iPad Air or iPad 4 tablets.
