Super Spelling by Kids & Apps, played like an arcade game, teaches kids how to be a spelling master!  It’s geared towards kids ages four and up, so your child can be good at spelling when entering preschool!

Super Spelling shows a picture of a certain object that it wants you to spell.  The first picture shown was of a cat.  Below the picture, there were three empty blocks, showing you that the word you were suppose to spell was spelled with three letters.  Off to the left of the screen, there was a list of each letter in the alphabet.  The letters were separated into different colors.

A-E was in red.
F-J was in blue.
K-O was in orange.
P-S was in green.
T-W was in yellow.
X-Z was in purple.

The reason for the letters being separated by colors is to help your child to narrow down the correct letters he or she is looking for.  So, let’s go back to the picture of the cat and the three empty blocks below it.  The first two blocks were red, showing that those two letters he or she is looking for will be in the A-E section, which is also – in red.  The third empty block was yellow, showing that letter will be in the T-W section, which is also – in yellow.  Super Spelling is a wonderful tool that makes spelling not only fun, but also very effective in learning. The letters listed on the left, can be drug into the empty boxes.  If the letter your child chooses is incorrect, it will be rejected from the box.  When he or she finds the correct letter, it will stay in the box, letting your child move on to the next letter!  Once they are done spelling out that object, a different object pops up making Super Spelling more of a game than anything else!  Learning can always be made fun; Super Spelling shows that! I have always been a huge fan of all teaching apps that lean towards being a game.  My three-year-old nephew loves playing games on my iPhone.  He’s already pretty good at his colors, so I bet the color coordinating with the letters and the empty blocks would really help the younger kids!  This color-help can be turned off (in the settings) for older children who don’t need that extra bit of help.  Super Spelling can be flipped around; so left-handed kids can play it, too!  This is also done in the settings. Super Spelling begins with basic three letter words, and eventually progresses to six letter words.  Your child is given stars for how well he or she does with the words that are being spelled – giving Super Spelling a fun goal of reaching as many stars as possible!
