iPhone 5 Screen is Twice as Fast Compared to Android Touch Screen
Apple iPhone 5 touch screen appears to have a faster response time compared to flagship Android and Windows Phone devices. According to benchmark tests performed by Agawi, game and app streaming firm, Apple iPhone 5 responds 2.5 times faster compared to other Android and Windows Phone devices.
The folks at Agawi built a device known as Touchscope that can measure the response time of smartphones. The tests were performed at least 50 times to get accurate results. In the first set of TouchMarks benchmark tests, iPhone 5 had a minimum app response time (MART) of 55 milliseconds, which is far better than other smartphones. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S4 had a minimum app response time of 114 milliseconds, which was very close to Nokia Lumia 928 with 117 milliseconds. The same tests were performed on Moto X and HTC One as well who MART was 121 and 123 milliseconds, respectively.
“App responsiveness is judged by how quickly the app can respond to your inputs,” said Rohan Relan, co-founder and CEO of Agawi. “Smartphones with touchscreens that have lower MART scores feel snappier. This is probably why, to many users, the iPhonekeyboard feels more responsive than an Android phone keyboard.”
The interesting thing is that the firm also tested the two-year old iPhone 4, which appeared to perform better than the current Android and Windows Phone devices, and managed to score 85 milliseconds on the benchmarks.
