Frogbert by Donut Games is a classic frogger-type game that has you use Frogbert’s tongue to catch things, slap things, fight things, collect things and probably even more things!  The game play is pretty addictive!  It’s easy to learn, but becomes more challenging as you move along.  You can choose between two different game modes: Long Leapin and Challenges.  Each mode is a little different.  In Long Leapin, you try to get as far as possible.  In Challenges, you try to beat each challenge.  During your games, you can try and earn different achievements.  There are 21.

I loved the Challenges mode!  There are 50 different courses.  You have to pass each one in order before you can move on to the next.  I found the directions to use Frogbert amazing, showing pictures and pop ups of how you can make your moves!  The app is very well put together!  I did love having a different challenge in each course, but I also enjoyed the Long Leapin mode, as well.   Instead of having different directions for each course like the other mode, there were simple directions to go by including: Leap by tapping the left side of the screen, and Use the tongue to defend yourself against falling items.  It took me a little while to figure out how to tap just right for jumping to keep from falling into the water, but I eventually got it down!

Something I LOVED was how Frogbert is a free app, but I didn’t see one single ad!  I did see something on the iTunes page stating it was only free for a limited time so, get it while it’s still free!  It’s a blast to play using bring colors and cute animation very Super Mario Brothers-ish!  I love Frogbert; I’m sure you will, too!

iTunes listed Frogbert’s features as such:

  • Two game modes:
  • LONG LEAPIN’: Get as far as you can through randomly generated levels!
  • CHALLENGES: 50 courses to master, full of flies, enemies, surprises and treasures!
  • Easy-to-learn controls

  • Lots of Achievements to unlock: Can you win the crazy “Spider Licker” achievement?
  • Donut Games’ famous 3-star ranking system: Increased replay value!
  • Global High Scores: Compare your scores with the world or your friends
  • Collectors Icon #28
