Dictionary.comDictionary.com – Dictionary & Thesaurus – Free is an extremely convenient reference app.  I’m a fanatic when it comes to English and grammar, so naturally I’m drawn to websites like Dictionary.com.  Although, I know my grammar well, I, too, need a little help here and there.  Sometimes, I’m about 98% sure of a word’s spelling, but I just want to confirm it’s correct.  While working, I use Dictionary.com often.  I was thrilled to see Dictionary.com had an app, too!  The fact that they have an app isn’t even the most exciting part, though.  Get this.  The app works offline!  You don’t need an internet connection to use it!  You can search over two million definitions, synonyms and antonyms just on your phone – offline!  For someone like me, that’s so exciting!  I’ve come to realize you can really extend your vocabulary by reading through the synonyms!  LOL!  That’s funny, but it really is true!  Wanna sound like a smarty?  Try it!

Dictionary.comDictionary.com is very user friendly!  The interface is perfect.  There’s a search button at the top of the screen that gives you quick and easy access to look up the word you want.  Dictionary.com even has a word of the day.  Today’s word was “piceous”.  It means “inflammable; combustible”.  I know for sure that I would have never heard that word if it weren’t for this app and its word of the day!  You can save your favorite words under the favorites-tab.  I have a list of about ten words saved that I want to learn well.  When using the actual search-tab, you can choose if you want to use the dictionary or thesaurus.  The trends-tab shows you words that are popular and trending.  This app is a must have for anyone who wants to better their grammar and extend their vocabulary.  It’s also great for someone who solely wants to use it as a dictionary.  It’s much quicker than using a real one!  I bet it would even be useful for the guy who’s texting his new fling and doesn’t want to look like a tool when he doesn’t know how to spell well!  Dictionary.com is a must-have-app for just about anyone!

I love this app! I use it frequently, especially while studying textbooks. I come across a new word, curious what it means, synonyms, even pronunciation… boom, there it is. All without the need for an Internet connection. What more is there to ask for?
