Cheap Gas is an app that uses your current location to find the nearest gas stations with the cheapest prices! The concept behind the app is awesome, and it works like a charm. After giving your permission to use your current location, Cheap Gas immediately lists the closest gas stations and what each of them are charging for gas. I tried the app from my work, and all the gas stations listed are within a five-mile radius. Your list can be sorted by price or by distance. The different prices ranged from $3.67 all the way to $3.96! That’s a $0.29 difference! An awesome feature Cheap Gas offers is a time stamp next to the price. This just shows me that the app is constantly updated, which is reassuring. It’s nice because each gas station listed, whether sorted by price or distance shows you the amount of miles this station is from your current location, giving you the option if that cheaper price is worth driving the extra four miles. For even more information on each of the gas stations that Cheap Gas lists, you can tap on each location. By doing this, you are shown the address and given an option to map directly to this location. The price Cheap Gas initially lists is the price of a regular gallon of gas. In case you’re interested in plus, premium or diesel, you can retrieve this information by tapping the specific location, just like you do to get the address. Cheap Gas is a simple app, used for a great purpose! I highly recommend it for anyone trying to save money on gas! And if you don’t care about the couple bucks you would save, then do it for the concept. We should be giving the most business to the gas stations that support lower prices!
