While I was browsing through the Apple iTunes store, I found a new iPhone app with functions to practice singing and speak various languages. On downloading it, I saw that the app, MyLAB Pro, is perfect for those who dream of singing in a band, long to be part of the choir, desire to sing along with musical instruments or just want to sing their heart out. Those interested in learning a new language can try it out too.

MyLAB Pro is an iPhone app that helps you check your pronunciation and tune while you practice singing songs.
It also has the functionality to help you learn a new language by listening to language files repeatedly to develop your vocabulary and speak fluently.

All you’ve got to do is select a source file from your iPhone and plug in your earphones. Press the recording button which you find in the lower right-hand corner of the screen and start singing the song using the microphone. You will see that once you press the recording button, you only hear the instrumental accompaniment in the background. This feature helps beginners stay in sync while singing. Once you’re done, listen to your recording without the instrumental accompaniment to know where you stand and what you need to work on, to perfect your singing. You can practice singing in the same manner to sharpen your singing skills till you develop the confidence to hit the stage!

Similarly, you can learn a new language by listening to language files on your iPhone. By paying attention to the manner in which words are pronounced by a native speaker, you can pick up little nuances of the language. You can practice speaking whatever you hear and record your pronunciation to compare it with that of the native speaker. This will help you greatly in improving your language skills.

Though this app has functions that are quite basic, MyLAB Pro may need some exploring before you get a hang of how it works. I felt that the user interface could have been designed in a better manner. Moreover, it would have been a huge benefit if users were able to share the songs they’ve sung, on Facebook. All the same, MyLAB Pro is perfect for newbies who can’t wait to get started with their singing and language learning.

I had just bought my new iPad 3G home from the Apple store, and played around with it for a few hours before I realised something. I was bored. It definitely had some cool features and everything, but all the multimedia I wanted to put on it from the App store and the iBookstore would cost me loads, and I simply couldn’t afford to spend $12 per book. I realised that without this multimedia, I simply couldn’t enjoy my Apple iPad to the fullest extent.

Then, after some Google searching, I discovered myPadMedia. It’s this new site which provides thousands of books, comic books, newspapers, games and more for the iPad. I must say, I was sceptical at first, but after reading some reviews, I went ahead and signed up for the site. Let me just say, this site delivers MORE than it promises. It’s not really an app or software, but a membership site which provides access to a whole huge database of downloads for the iPad. With a couple of clicks, I had the entire Harry Potter series on my iPad, without it costing me anything for each download! All you have to do is search what you want, select, and download! It is so easy, and so simple.

The range of downloads available is enormous. I’m a big fan of the X-Men comic book series and I am now able to download the latest issues to my iPad so I can read them when I’m on the way to work. I’m also now able to read my favorite newspaper The New York Times directly on my iPad in the morning. Pretty cool, huh? Not only does myPadMedia save me time, but it also saves me a ton of money. Why should I pay $12 per book, when I can download 10 books a day from myPadMedia without it costing me anything?

I’m a big fan of myPadMedia, and I strongly recommend it to all iPad users. My iPad is now filled with over 46 books, 52 comic books, and plenty more, and I can’t live without it!

If that is not cool enough for you, it also includes nutritional information along with pretty straight forward instructions to follow.

You can use the App’s store locator to find Whole Food Market stores close to you. Each store page includes links to the stores website and specials on organic and natural foods that are on sale at your local Market.

Now you can also make the shopping lists using this application. You just have to click on the Add to list button at the bottom of each recipe and items will be added automatically, including quantities so that it will make easy for you to buy the items. You  can also add the items by hand, edit rearrange and can send lists via email, aka No more getting yelled at by your significant other when you forget the grocery list! That in itself is worth the download.
