Use an Apple Corer to Turn Watermelon Into Easy Finger Food

The humble apple corer is great for… well… coring apples. But you can also use this handy kitchen tool to transform watermelon into a mess-free finger food.

Instructables user openproducts shows us how to create attractive nibbles from a variety of fruit, including watermelon.

A watermelon gives a really nice result because the rind can be cut out as well, resulting in a layered color pattern as can be seen in some of the pictures.

The cumulative mass of the sticks amounts to approximately 70% of the initial weight on the watermelon slice (dependent on the space that is left in between the holes). The leftover part with the holes is perfectly fit for human consumption: don’t waste it.1

Leave the rinds attached if you want something to hold onto, or chop it off for a more uniform color. There is quite a lot of work involved for personal fruit consumption, but it’s a great way to make an impression at a party.
